Welcome to the Fitness Commune, a health, fitness and performance centre for all abilities.

We use the gym as a space for positive change both physically and mentally.

We don’t see members as a mere revenue source, we value honesty integrity and commitment thus building a community of likeminded people dedicated to improving as a whole.

• We don’t agree that one size fits all.
• We accept people’s limitations and strengths.
• We programme according to abilities and fitness levels.
• Gradually increasing levels according to the individual’s ability.
• We value honesty, integrity and commitment

We encourage teamwork and co-operation within the gym space using a variety of equipment to build all round fitness alongside mental strength.

All we ask is for commitment and consistency.

The journey to success and self-discovery is impossible when alone.

Working with groups of likeminded people is in our opinion, the best way for self-improvement and a healthier more positive self.

Programmes

Our small groups follow progressive overload programmes tailored to your ability or personal goals. Whether you’re new to the gym or a competing athlete, our programmes can help you meet your targets.

We do the hard work, so you don’t have to.

We can provide specialist programmes for those competing in competitions like Hyrox, Turf or for combat athletes.

If you are new to the gym or trying something new, then the programmes will be built around your abilities to grow your fitness and confidence.

Everything is carefully programmed to educate members and avoid injury.

I’ve boxed professionally for over 8 years, but joining the Fitness Commune is what propelled me to the next level in my professional career. I’ve been lucky enough to train around numerous gyms throughout my career and experience different set ups and atmospheres, but now couldn’t see myself ever training in a different gym or without the guidance of the coaches.

The coaches are incredibly knowledgeable about all aspects of training and fitness as well as nutrition. Their knowledge and experience is priceless! They take the time to get to know everyone who walks through the doors of the fitness commune and understand their strengths, weakness. They find out what they want to achieve help them reach their individual goals – with plenty of laughs along the way.

The atmosphere around the gym is always great and welcoming with people from all different walks of life working together to achieve a common goal of getting fit and healthy and enjoy themselves. It doesn’t matter if you’re a complete beginner or a professional athlete, everyone is valued and treated with respect. I believe the community and the atmosphere within the gym is what makes it special.

I’ve been lucky enough to train with the Commune coaches for numerous years now and I contribute a large portion of my success to them. After having some time away from boxing I’m back looking to fight and thanks to the Fitness Commune I’ve been able to stay in great shape whilst away from the ring and I’m now stepping up my training towards my next fight.

I was a 35 year old mother of 2 small children when I reached out to Paul for help and support with my weight and health. I was bigger than I had ever been and was so unhealthy. My youngest child had just turned 2 and I was still massively overweight. I didn’t recognise myself both inside or out and my confidence and self-esteem were non-existent.

I had joined and tried many other gyms in the past but left because I felt out of my depth and intimidated by other people’s fitness. I expected the Fitness Commune to be another gym where I only last about 2 months.

Paul put me at ease from the minute I walked into the gym. I knew within a week that I had found an amazing place with great people and 3 years later I’m still here achieving levels of fitness and strength I never thought possible. I could never have done it without Paul and everyone in the gym community lifting me up and pushing me to achieve my absolute best. They helped me find my ‘spark’ again. I feel more confident, strong and empowered because I’m surrounded by people who want to build you up and celebrate your wins. Everyone is so supportive and encouraging. My children are also growing up in a setting where health and fitness is part of their normal every-day lives.

When I joined the Commune, my sole focus was to lose weight and try and regain a bit of confidence. Instead, I’ve become obsessed with strength and fitness, training 6 days a week. When I joined I was stuck in a rut and couldn’t motivate myself to stick to any kind of fitness or nutrition plan. Since then I’ve run a 10k when I had previously never run a step in my life, deadlifted twice my body weight, rowed 1k in less than 4 minutes and have actually competed in a number of fitness competitions.

The gym has been a life saver for me in multiple ways. When I joined the gym in Nov 2021 I was very low on self-esteem and also feeling very unfit. Before I found the Fitness Commune, I’d tried multiple different gyms and programmes and had never felt comfortable training. I’d also never found a training style that suited me and actually made me want to go to the gym.

A friend recommended the Fitness Commune and from my very first visit Paul has put 100% into my training and programming as I was basically starting from scratch and had very little knowledge. One of my biggest fears was being unable to do the cardio, but Paul was very careful on programming my cardio days and eased me in.

I love the atmosphere at the Fitness Commune – it’s unmatched in Liverpool. The environment they have created is motivating, friendly and encouraging. I never feel out of my depth and I’ve been helped from the beginning of my fitness journey right up until present. The team give every member in the gym their all and really care about individual member’s goals and results.

Compared to other gyms you get more than you pay for at Fitness Commune, coaching, adapted programmes and nutrition. My goal is to feel physically and mentally fit while getting stronger and hopefully be able to compete when the time is right. I’ve personally benefited loads while training doing Olympic lifting, which is something I would never have thought of doing without their support and patience. They team have so much to give to the fitness field. The support and time they put in is something I’ve only ever seen here.

I’m so glad I found The Fitness Commune as it’s been an escape and focus for me when I needed it most during my nursing training and also through recent personal experiences. I’ve never met a group of people like the guys at the gym and I’d never hesitate to recommend this gym to anyone looking for a place to start up.

Philosophy of training
Train for an objective

Training for performance is a far better way for a leaner healthier self.
Incorporating performance related sessions with a goal in mind is far more productive than training to burn calories and keeps clients motivated and consistent.
What I enjoy most about my work is helping clients through group training to become stronger more confident people. To help foster good mental health to prepare us for whatever life throws at us.

The mind and body work as one – We must train both!
